Local gymnast Bayley Boyle and her partner win 1st place at state competition

On Saturday, April 28th in Baytown, local 8-year-old Bayley Boyle, and her partner Ruby Keoughan, age 12, earned 1st place at the State Acrobatics Gymnastics Competition.

The two girls qualified for State by placing 1st at both local qualifiers, which was held on March 3rd in Garland and March 24th in Boerne. The pair is part of the Acrobatics Gymnastics Team at Boerne Gymnastics Center. They are coached by Rumen and Radostina Lachkov.

Boyle and Keoughan will move on to Regionals held in Dallas next month. The states that represent in Regionals are Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Texas. If the girls do well at Regionals, they will advance to Nationals, held in North Carolina in July.

The girls, who were partners last year as well, had a golden year by placing first at all of their competitions. This is the second year for the girls to compete.

Bayley Boyle is the daughter of Patrick and Ashlea Boyle of Kerrville. Ruby Keoughan is the daughter of Dr. Curry Keoughan and Dr. Jennifer Long of Boerne.
