Ingram teacher Tyler Maltsberger turns himself in for alleged improper relationship between educator and student

UPDATE: The educator who was indicted for IMPROPER RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN EDUCATOR AND STUDENT last week in Kerr County turned himself into authorities in Gillespie County Monday.

Tyler Maltsberger, who listed himself as the Ag Teacher at Ingram Tom Moore Highschool, posted a $100,000 surety bond and was released Monday, according to Gillespie County Jail Records.

Ingram Police Department released this information about an indictment last week, but did not mention his name.

ORIGINAL STORY: 04/19/2018 Some parents of students at Ingram ISD were notified by email last night, about an alleged inappropriate student/teacher relationship at Ingram Tom Moore High School. Here is what the email reads word for word…

“Parents/Guardians:

We, at Ingram ISD, recently received information regarding an alleged inappropriate student/teacher relationship at Ingram Tom Moore High School. At this point, the information we received is that this was an isolated incident that occurred outside of Ingram. As soon as we were notified, we immediately removed the teacher from duty and placed the educator on administrative leave.

We want all of you to know and be assured that our students are always our number one concern. We are committed to providing a safe, learning environment for all students at all times. We expect all of our employees to act in a strictly professional manner. Behavior that doesn’t align with our standards will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Ingram ISD will work cooperatively and fully with the Ingram Police Department and the Texas Rangers as they handle the investigation. We appreciate their community partnership and assistance.

Due to the ongoing investigation, Ingram ISD and Ingram Police Department can not comment further regarding this alleged incident. We ask for your compassion and understanding in the sensitivity of this matter.
