Sisters Keely (14) and Bailey (12) Geisel have gone above and beyond in our community by donating $795 to the Kerrville Parks and Recreation Department. The two local Girl Scouts raised the money themselves and with it, a new adaptive swing was purchased and installed in Lehmann and Monroe Park in Kerrville.

Ashlea Boyle, director of Parks and Recreation said, “I am extremely impressed with the dedication and selflessness of these young ladies. Keely and Bailey approached us about this idea, after visiting the park, with the hope of providing an inclusive feature as one of their service projects. They worked very hard raising the funds and even donated some of their own money. We were thrilled with the idea of adding this amenity to this playground. The Parks and Recreation Department thanks Keely and Bailey for their hard work and service to the community.”

“This project for me was to ensure everyone had the joy of swinging,” Keely Geisel said.

The young ladies will be recognized for their efforts at the April 24, 2018 City Council meeting.
