Tivy HS AFJROTC instructor CMSgt Fred Brunz receives 2018 Outstanding Instructor Award

Kerrville ISD has recently released the information below regarding Tivy High School AFJROTC instructor CMSgt Fred Brunz earning the award for the 2018 Outstanding Instructor Award.


KISD says The Department of the Air Force Air University (AETC) announced this week the names of individuals who won awards for ‘Outstanding Instructor’.

Tivy High School’s Chief Fred Brunz was selected as the 2018 Region 3 Aerospace Science Instructor of the Year for AFJROTC. This award places Brunz as the top instructor in all of region 3 which is made up of approximately 140 ASIs, and places him in the Top 8 out of over 1,000 ASIs worldwide.

“We should all be very proud for him and for the TX-20063rd on this major accomplishment,” THS Colonel Bobby Woods said. “His hard work and dedication to these students, THS, and our community has been recognized at the highest levels of AFJROTC. He is a humble leader and has earned this very prestigious recognition.”

Chief Fred Brunz has been an AFJROTC instructor at Tivy for the past eight years. He retired from active duty in the U.S. Air Force in 2010.
