Peterson Health looks for artists, photographers to participate in art lending program

Peterson Health is reaching out to artists and photographers to submit their work to be displayed down the main hallway from the reception area at Peterson’s Outpatient Rehabilitation Department at the Ambulatory Care Center (ACC) from June through August. This is the sixth year that Peterson Health’s Community Art Lending Program has been running and it has reportedly become a big accomplishment of Peterson Health.

The program displays local and regional artists and photographers and rotates the art on the walls every three months, showing new artists each quarter.

Lisa Winters, Director of Marketing and Community Relations, states, “You cannot imagine what a difference it makes to the patients, physicians, caregivers, and staff to see 40-60 new photos or paintings each and every quarter.  We are so blessed by the generosity of our local artists who continue to give and give to our organization and who have been so loyal and supportive of this program.  What started out as a department idea on a modest scale has now become one of the most successful art programs in the region and gained the attention of other hospitals and healthcare organizations.”

Peterson Health says that in 2016, the program was recognized by the Texas Hospital Association as a “Showcase Award” winner and is considered a “best practice” for rural community hospitals.

It is advised by the organization, any artists interested in submitting art for consideration should submit photos of available framed pieces no later than Monday, June 4th

If you are a local artist or photographer and would like to participate this summer, email photos of available pieces to Lisa Winters at or call (830)258-7628.
