The Salvation Army to provide families with ‘Back to School’ assistance

The Salvation Army of Kerrville has provided newly released information about their school supplies assistance event.

“School is out for summer, however, many are already planning for the upcoming year. From school districts to local organizations, the school year is to be planned well in advance. This includes parents, as sending a child back to school can cause financial strain on a household budget.

The Salvation Army of Kerrville will be accepting Back to School registration for families who need assistance to send their children back to school for the 2018 – 2019 school year.

Location: The Salvation Army Social Services Office, 855 Hays Street
When: June 2 – June 16
Monday – Thursday, 9 am-Noon
Saturday (June 2 & June 16), 9 am-Noon

To qualify, child(ren) must be enrolled in a Kerr County school (public or private) in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 12th. To register, parent/guardian will need to bring and provide proof of Kerr County residence, current SNAP (food stamps) letter, and proof of enrollment in school. Enrollment in school can be provided with last report card or confirmation of enrollment in a Kerr County school.

Individuals and/or businesses interested in “adopting” buses to help local families, can do so by visiting The Salvation Army Kerrville Kroc Center, located at 201 Holdsworth Drive, or contact (830) 315-5753. School supplies or financial donations can also be dropped off at the Kroc Center.”
