The Friends of the Butt-Holdsworth Memorial Library have provided the funding for the Summer Reading Club. Activities include child and teen-friendly professional programs at the Cailloux Theater, family movies, and craft and Lego programs.

All programs are free of charge and a library card is not required to participate in the club; however, registration in the Summer Reading program is requested.

This summer, professional children’s performers offer free entertaining and educational programs. All of these performances are free and open to family groups, organized groups, and daycares.

Performers this summer include:

the Magik Theater on June 6; Nancy & Friends puppet show on June 13; Gusto the Great Magician on June 20; Zoofari
Animals on June 27; Dinosaur George on July 11, and Critterman and his wild animals on July 18.

All shows are at 10 a.m. at the Cailloux Theater and are approximately 45 minutes long.

Craft sessions and activities are open to family groups only and three sessions will be held on Mondays at 11 a.m. and 1:30 and 3:30 p.m.

June crafts include “Wooden Fans” on June 4, “Wind Chimes” on June 11, “Mixed Media Art” on June 18, and “Dream Catchers” on

The library is excited to host the Humane Society of Kerrville for a sixth year of Read to a Therapy Dog, held at 10 a.m. on Thursdays from June 7 through June 28. Registration and a
signed permission slip are required before participation in this event.

Their popular Lego Club will be gearing up to build again this summer every Thursday, June 7 through July 26, at 1:30 p.m.
