KISD advises community about unapproved soliciting of advertisement and merchandise

KISD has published information pertaining to unauthorized vendors selling advertising and merchandise not approved by the district. Below reads the details regarding this subject as released by KISD.

“Kerrville ISD would like to alert the community and local businesses of outside vendors who sell unsolicited advertising and merchandise in the name of Kerrville ISD sports teams, campuses, and organizations. Vendors use Kerrville ISD campus names, sayings, or logos on promotional products that have not been sanctioned by the school district, and the school district receives no funding from these vendors. Additionally, the products that are delivered are typically not usable because they do not depict official district logos.

KISD urges the community to be aware of any company who may be selling items such as calendars, sports schedules, cups, water bottles, and T-Shirts using KISD logos and slogans.

“During the summer months these vendors aggressively contact local businesses to secure advertising on their sub-standard, unsanctioned products. Once the vendor has received payment, they will not return phone calls of complaint or requests for refund,” Athletic Director David Jones said.

KISD’s practice when raising funds involves district or campus staff, PTO, Booster Club, or student activity members who make personal contact with patrons. They will clearly identify themselves to patrons as either a student, teacher, administrator, PTO, or Booster Club member.

“If you are unsure of the identity of the person to whom you are speaking, ask their name, what school or activity they represent, and for a call back number. Verify they validly represent Kerrville ISD before providing any payment information,” Assistant Superintendent Wade Ivy said.

Patrons can verify the validity of a solicitor by calling Holly Vogt at 257-2200 ext. 1025.”
