Local sheriff deputy arrested on charge of Driving While Intoxicated

Sheriff Rusty Hierholzer terminated Taylor Brands’ employment early in the morning on June 11th, 2018.

Gillespie County jail records show that Taylor Gene Brands was arrested on June 9th, 2018 by the Texas Department of Public Safety and charged with Driving While Intoxicated. He was released on June 10th, 2018.

Up until yesterday, Brands was an active Kerr County Sheriff Deputy. Kerr County Sheriff Rusty Hierholzer told us this morning that he has zero tolerance for this kind of behavior in his office. “He was suspended immediately and after I hear the whole story tomorrow, his employment will be determined then,” said Sheriff Hierholzer this morning. 

Driving While Intoxicated is a Class B Misdemeanor with a fine of up to $2,000, up to six months in jail and a driver license suspension up to one year.
