The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center and Kerrville ISD’s Tivy High school join forces this summer to form a community jazz band for anyone 15 years old and up. The Kroc Community Center has released details regarding the Kerrville Community Jazz Band.
The release states, “The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center is excited to announce a joint venture with Kerrville ISD Tivy High School. Mr. Jeff Crabtree, Performing Arts Coordinator for the Kerrville Kroc Center, in collaboration with Ms. Roxanne Vickers, Head Band Director for Tivy High School, announce the Kerrville Community Jazz Band.
The Kerrville Community Jazz Band is open to community members 15 years of age and older, who are skillful at one of the following instruments: saxophone (alto, tenor, baritone), trombone, bass trombone, trumpet, or rhythm (kit, keyboard, bass, and guitar). Members will need to provide their own instruments.
Rehearsals for the Kerrville Community Jazz Band will begin Saturday, June 9th in the Kathleen Cailloux Worship & Arts Center, located within the Kroc Center, located at 201 Holdsworth Drive, from 1 – 2:30 pm. Weekly rehearsals will continue over the summer.
Those interested in participating in the Kerrville Community Jazz Band are invited and encouraged to come to the Saturday rehearsals. To participate, there is no charge.
