Judge sets trial date in Amanda Hawkins case


Amanda Hawkins trial date has been set by Judge Williams, for September 24th, 2018, at the Kerr County Courthouse in Kerrville, TX.

Hawkins is accused of four crimes, being two counts of Abandon/Endanger Child Imminent Danger/Bodily Injury and two counts of Injury of a Child/Elderly/Disable Reckless SBI/Mental according to Kerr County Court Records. Her attorney is Kurt Rudkin.


Her alleged accomplice, Kevin Franke, is accused of six crimes, including two counts each of Manslaughter, Abandon Endanger Child Imminent Danger Bodily Injury and Injury Child/Elderly/Disable with Int SBI/Mental. His trial is set for August 27th, 2018. His attorney is listed as Joe D Gonzales.

Amanda Hawkins’ children, Addyson Overgard-Eddy, 2 and Bryn Hawkins, 1, passed away after they were reportedly left in a car overnight on June 6th 2017, while Hawkins was inside of a residence on Riverside Dr. in Kerrville with several acquaintances. The girls were found unconscious on June 7th, 2017 inside of the car at around noon.

Kevin Franke, who was only 16 at the time, reportedly slept in the car with the toddlers and went into the residence where Hawkins was at around 8am, failing to alert her that the children were outside and is also accused of failing to promptly seek medical care when they were found. He is being tried as an adult.

Amanda Hawkins remains in the Kerr County Jail at this time, with a bond totaling $200,000, according to Kerr County jail records. Her alleged accomplice, Kevin Franke, is also in Kerr County Jail with a bond totaling $240,000.
