For the 2nd year in a row, Peterson Health has received the award for 2018 Outstanding Patient Experience on June 26. This award comes from Healthgrades and distinguishes Peterson Health as one of the top 15 percent of hospitals in the nation.
The award is presented to Peterson Health after Healthgrades evaluated patient experience surveys from 3,478 hospitals from April 2016 to March 2017.
Peterson Health President and CEO, Patrick Murray says, “This award reflects the patient experience across our entire continuum of care–from start to finish–which means everyone at Peterson Health shares the credit for achieving this designation. This hospital-wide distinction stems from the collaborative efforts of our volunteers, facilities, food services, emergency room, nurses and physicians, therapist and more, over 40+ departments. Our daily mission to provide exceptional, compassionate, patient-centered care is evidenced in this important patient satisfaction award and we will continue to strive for world-class patient care.”
Healthgrades requires hospitals to meet eligibility requirements to be considered for this award. Those requirements include clinical performance thresholds and a minimum of 100 survey responses. It is said that Peterson Health’s performance ranks them among the top 80% in the nation for clinical quality.
“Patient experience surveys offer important insight about hospitals and their commitment to providing patients with outstanding experience, and furthermore, consumers value that information when making care decisions. Hospitals that have received the Healthgrades 2018 Outstanding Patient Experience Award have received high marks from their most important stakeholders-the patients themselves,” states Brad Bowman, MD, Chief Medical Officer with Healthgrades.
The award was given to Peterson Health at the main hospital by Healthgrades representative, Katharine Mongoven, Director of Quality Solutions. Many were in attendance including PRMC Board of Directors, the Patient Family Advisory Council, department directors and numerous employees.
