Today from 11 AM to 2 PM, the Center Point Volunteer Fire Department is holding their annual BBQ and fundraiser. They will be serving up BBQ and will have a silent auction and gun raffle. Kids are welcome to attend and enjoy the kid zone that will be set up. There will be a dance with live music by Mario Flores during the evening as well, beginning at 9 PM until 1 AM.
A variety of guns will be raffled off for $10 a ticket, and one will be available to bid on in the silent auction, along with many other items. Winners will be drawn at the dance during the evening and do not need to be present to win. Each name chosen for the raffle will have their choice of 7 different guns.
“We are looking forward to seeing everyone and we thank the community for their continued support,” says Charles Holt with CPVFD, “We have a great community and we really appreciate everything they do for us. We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without them.”
Along with barbeque being served, there will be a bake sale with a lot of different baked goods. The kid zone will have coloring books and other “fun”.
Holt said that last year the CPVFD served 1,200 people and hope to exceed that number this year. The barbeque and fundraiser will be held at the Center Point Volunteer Fire Department at 548 Kelly St W in Center Point.
