Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office says that concerned citizens helped to catch two suspected burglars

As reported in a press release by the Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office, on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, around 1:32 AM, a call came in from a homeowner regarding a robbery taking place at a residence off of Pressler-Henke Road in Gillespie County.

The caller was not home at the time but was able to see the suspects, described as a male and female, later identified as Fountain Wesley Bullard, 34, and Samantha Hope Bloxham, 23, on their home video surveillance and coordinated with Gillespie County communications.

The suspects fled on foot and the officers were unable to locate them but then saw the two individuals getting into their pick up truck. After a vehicle pursuit headed northbound on SH 16 South, the pick up took an exit and turned onto Old Kerr Highway and crashed. Both suspects fled on foot, again.

The officers searched for the male and female and took inventory of the contents inside the pickup, which contained what appeared to be stolen property.

At around 1:15 AM, it is said that a concerned citizen on Herbort Road called officers and reported that a male and female were seen walking on his property. A drone from the City of Fredericksburg and a Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter were deployed to assist in locating the subjects.

At approximately 3:30 PM, another concerned citizen reported that two suspicious subjects were walking near Herbort Road and Center Point Road. After this call, the DPS helicopter also discovered the male and female subjects.

The suspects were taken into custody without incident once law enforcement officers located and surrounded them.

The County of Gillespie also added this in their release, “Immense cooperation amongst local and surrounding law enforcement agencies along with the information provided by concerned citizens of Gillespie County led to the apprehension of these two individuals.”
