The Burnet County Sheriff’s Office has stated on a Facebook post today that at 9:18 AM, BCSO Communications was made aware of a plane crash that happened on the runway at the Burnet Municipal Airport.
All 13 people on board were said to have survived when the plane reportedly crashed while attempting to take off. It is said that one person was airlifted by helicopter to SAMC with significant burn injuries and seven people were ground transported to Seton Highland Lakes with minor injuries.
The BCSO Facebook post also adds that the aircraft and nearby grass caught fire but the fires were extinguished by responding fire departments.
The aircraft crash is currently under investigation.
The community is advised to contact the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Federal Aviation Administration for any additional information about the investigation.
