Junior Lifeguard Camp coming up for local youth

If you are between the ages of 10 and 14, know how to swim; are looking for something to do this summer? Join the Kerrville Parks & Recreation Department at the Junior Lifeguard Camp, being held July 23, 27 from 8 AM- 12 PM at the Olympic Pool.

Although participating youth will not become certified lifeguards, they will have the opportunity to learn skills in lifesaving techniques. Different swimming strokes and team building skills will also be taught at the Junior Lifeguard Camp.

Rosa Ledesma, the Recreation Coordinator, says this about the upcoming Junior Lifeguard Camp, “This camp is perfect for those considering employment as a lifeguard in the future.”

The deadline to sign up for the Junior Lifeguard Camp is on July 16, 2018. The fee to participate is $55. It is asked that participants come prepared with a swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat and must be able to swim on their own.

The Olympic Pool is located at 601 Olympic Drive in Kerrville. Contact Rosa Ledesma with Kerrville Parks and Recreation at 830-258-1160.
