Local library earns accreditation from Texas State Library and Archives Commission

It has been announced by the City of Kerrville that the Texas State Library and Archives Commission has recently given Kerrville’s Butt-Holdsworth Memorial Library accreditation, which makes them a fully qualified member of the Texas Library System for State Fiscal Year 2019, lasting from September 1, 2018 through August 31, 2019.

The City of Kerrville says, along with this announcement, that the library is eligible to participate in the statewide interlibrary loan program and TexShare programs. In turn, this gives them the opportunity to pay under $950 for over $108,000 worth of online resources. This includes Learning Express, EBSCO research databases, Gale Legal Forms, and HeritageQuest.

“We are honored to once again receive accreditation from the Texas State Library and Archives Commission,” Library Director Laura Bechtel said. “This distinction is only possible through the dedication and hard work of our library staff and the amazing support we receive from our entire community.”

Along with the above-mentioned eligibility, it was said that the Butt-Holdsworth Memorial Library is eligible to apply for Texas State Library competitive grants and the federal E-Rate program.

The Butt-Holdsworth Memorial Library is located at 505 Water Street in Kerrville. More information about the library, events hosted by them, and their hours of operation, visit their website at bhmlibrary.org or give them a call at 830-258-1274.
