Summer adult kickball league ends with Los Kickbaleros taking home the final win

Last week, it was announced that Los Kickbaleros adult kickball league took home the league title at the final game of the inaugural summer kickball league season. The Los Kickbaleros, also known as the Kerrville Fire Department, won the title by defeating Recreational Hazard, 1-0.

Five teams played in the league by competing back-and-forth throughout the summer season. The games were played at the Singing Wind softball fields in Kerrville.

“Kickball is a vastly popular adult recreational sport across America,” Kerrville Parks
and Recreation Specialist Josh Rodrigue said. “Friends get together and bring back friendly
competition from their childhood. It’s a really nostalgic feeling. Four of our five teams this
season were “company teams” consisting of co-workers and their families. The competition this season was tight; on an almost nightly basis, everyone beat everyone, so it was fun to watch. And teams were competitive, but very spirited in their sportsmanship, which was the most fun thing about the league for me.”

With 75 players participating in the summer season, the city has decided to schedule a fall season to begin in October.

If anyone is interested in participating, you are encouraged to visit the Parks and Recreation Department at 2385 Bandera Hwy.
