UPDATE: Ticket sales are closed, according to the Hill Country Arts Foundation.
ORIGINAL STORY: The Hill Country Arts Foundation’s annual Visual Arts fundraiser is coming up on Sunday, September 16, from 4 PM to 6 PM. There will be a silent art auction, a hat contest for both ladies and gentlemen, a raffle featuring a turquoise necklace, food and drink, and local artists at this “Mad Hatter Tea Party and Happy Hour” themed event.
This Visual Arts event is the only annual fundraiser that the Hill Country Arts Foundation puts on to raise money for their future visual arts programs and educational program support. Funds they receive go to underwrite art exhibits in the Duncan-McAshan Gallery and are used to support the summer Young Artist’s Camps. They also fund scholarships for children and adults and go to equipment replacement and facility improvements.
Some local artists and businesses have donated items for the event’s silent auction, which will begin at 4 PM and close out at 5:30 PM. Each work for auction will have a $50 beginning bid.
“We want this to be fun for everybody while aiding an important asset of the Texas Hill Country,” says Rosanne Thrall, Visual Arts Director at the Hill Country Arts Foundation.
The community is invited to join and support the Hill Country Arts Foundation, which is said to be a 59-year-old nonprofit organization within the region.
Tickets for the “Mad Hatter Tea Party and Happy Hour” are $25 and all proceeds will go directly to help the HCAF. Call 830-367-5120 for tickets and more information.
The Hill Country Arts Foundation is located at 120 Point Theater Rd S in Ingram.
