Phone scammers targeting Kendall County residents

According to Kendall County and Boerne officials, the Kendall County area community has been receiving phone calls from unknown callers saying that they are working for the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office. The callers are telling residents that there is a warrant for them and to avoid arrest, the caller needs to purchase money cards or gift cards with specified amounts.

The Boerne Police Department stated in a recent Facebook post, “Police Officers and Deputies do not ask for money cards/gift cards over the phone. Do not purchase any money cards/gift cards and do not give them any personal information.”

If you receive a call like this, residents are asked to report it by calling the police department at 830-249-8645.
