Two arrested after narcotics are found during traffic stop in Johnson City

Yesterday, it was announced by the Johnson City Police Department that while making a traffic stop, JCPD Officers, assisted by the Blanco County Sheriff’s Office, smelled the odor of marijuana which gave them probable cause to search the stopped vehicle. A number of narcotics were found inside the vehicle during the search.


According to the Johnson City PD, Officers found 9 pounds of marijuana, with the intent to distribute, which is a Second Degree Felony. They also found 2 pounds of the controlled substance Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in a wax form, a First Degree Felony. 2.65 pounds of THC in a liquid form was found for an additional First Degree Felony, and Hashish was discovered, another First Degree Felony. Finally, Officers found Ecstacy, a State Jail Felony, and a stolen firearm, which is a State Jail Felony, as well.

After the discoveries in the search, the two suspects were arrested and taken to the Blanco County Jail.
