Councilman Gary Stork’s death ruled a suicide, wife’s manner of death still a mystery

Kerrville Police Department issued a press release Tuesday afternoon, regarding the 2016 deaths of Kerrville City Councilman Gary Stork, and his wife, Peggy.

“On September 24, 2016, the Kerrville Police Department responded to the 800 block of Tanglewood Lane for a report of two unresponsive individuals inside a residence.”

“Officers arrived and found Gary and Peggy Stork both deceased. The investigation and autopsy revealed both individuals died from separate single gunshot wounds to the head.”

“Gary Stork was the suspect in an Indecency with a Child case scheduled to be presented to the 198th Grand Jury on September 27, 2016.”

“The death investigation case has remained open pending the analysis of evidence collected at the scene. Recently all forensic testing was completed and the case was presented to the 198th Grand Jury on October 30, 2018.”

“The Kerrville Police Department’s investigation determined that there was no third party involved in the death of Gary or Peggy Stork. While it was determined that Gary Stork’s death was self-inflicted, Peggy Stork’s manner of death was undetermined. The investigation and evidence analysis was unable to definitively establish Peggy Stork’s manner of death.”
