Deadly helicopter crash claims the lives of newlyweds, pilot

UVALDE, TX- It has been confirmed that three victims lost their lives after being involved in the November 3rd helicopter crash outside of Uvalde. According to the Uvalde County Sheriff’s Office, the helicopter crashed near Chalk Bluff Park off Highway 55 around 12 AM.

Two names of the deceased were released by a relative as Will Byler and his new wife, Bailee Ackerman Byler, along with their unnamed pilot.

The newlywed couple was leaving their wedding ceremony when the helicopter went down. They were both students at Sam Houston State University.

The Houstonian, the Sam Houston State University newspaper writes, “It is with deepest sadness that we announce the tragic passing of two Bearkats Will Byler (Agriculture Engineering senior) and Bailee Ackerman Byler (Agricultural Communications senior) in a helicopter accident departing their wedding. We ask that you keep the Byler and Ackerman families in your thoughts and prayers.”

NTSB has announced that an investigation of the crash is currently ongoing.
