Stolen Uvalde truck recovered in Dilley, wanted fugitive apprehended

UVALDE, TX – Authorities recovered the truck that was stolen from Uvalde in the early Monday morning hours, approximately 58 miles away, in Dilley, TX. They apprehended a suspect who was found less than a mile away from the recovered truck.


While Uvalde County Sheriff’s Office and Uvalde Police Department havn’t clearly said that Justin Jonathan Chapa was the suspect of the stolen truck, Chapa, a wanted fugitive was also arrested in Dilley, TX Monday.

A press release from Uvalde County Sheriff’s Office states that Chapa was a wanted fugitive with multiple felony warrants out of Uvalde County.

“Uvalde Police Detectives with the assistance of U.S. Marshals Service, Border Patrol BORTAC K-9 Team, and the Dilley Police Dept. apprehended Chapa Safely.”

”Chapa remains in custody for the active felony warrants and other new charges received during his arrest.”

The Uvalde County Sheriff’s Office extended their gratitude toward Federal Law Enforcement partners who assisted in apprehending Chapa and getting one more offender off of our streets.
