Alleged theft and laundering leads to arrest, vehicles and 55 firearms among recovered items

KERR COUNTY, TX- A theft on October 29 was reported to Kerr County Sheriff’s Office Investigators. A former ranch employee was suspected of stealing many valuable items over a period of several months. He allegedly sold the valuable items and laundered the proceeds by buying guns and vehicles, according to KCSO.

After the suspect had been identified as Garrett Wayne Meyer, age 35, he was arrested and charged with Theft of Property over $300 Thousand dollars.

Once the suspect was taken into custody, Investigators went to Bryan, Texas where they recovered items including a 2010 Ford King Ranch truck, 27 rifles, 28 pistols, gun safes, gold coins, a two dollar bill collection, specialty silver coins, large quantities of ammunition and firearm accessories, says KCSO.

Arrangements have been made to recover additional property located in the Leakey, Texas area, as well as a Cougar Brand RV from College Station, Texas.

Meyer is said to be in the Brazos County Jail. He has a pending bond amount of $1,000,000.00.
