The Supersonic ( Jetsons in English) marked a whole generation by becoming the hope of a future full of technology, something that some of their fans are still waiting for, while others make it happen.
At the University of Florida, a fan of The Jetsons and robotics enthusiasts recently created a new robot that will surprise you.
Astro, named in honor of the Supersonic mascot, is a robot dog that has powerful artificial intelligence that allows it to respond to both visual and auditory stimuli, to perform actions according to what is needed and in the best way possible.
In an interview with Digital Trend, Elan Barenholtz, one of its creators, explained that what makes Astro different from the rest of quadruped robots is the ability to react by artificial intelligence, since the rest works if there is a human operator.
As if that were not enough, Astro is able to learn, which means that his intelligence allows him to change and focus on new processes, through experiences and applications with some specific focus.
We are developing very specific applications such as security monitoring that can detect weapons and suspicious activity or rescue tasks. Recognize sounds of help and mobilize to the place and, of course, there is also the option of having a robotic pet.
The DogBot works in a simple way. Different cameras and microphones were installed in his head, as well as the human brain, these help him process data and according to what his senses offer, the robot will react to the situation.
What do you think about invention? Would you like to have one of these dogs?
