In accordance with a press release issued by the MDA, coming up on June 23 and again on July 21, “members of the Kerrville Fire Department and Kerrville Professional Fire Fighters Association Local #3230 together with the Muscular Dystrophy Association, will fan out across the Kerrville area with boots in hand for the firefighters’ annual Fill the Boot fundraising campaign to help free kids and adults from the harm of muscular dystrophy, ALS and related life-threatening diseases.”
Fill the Boot will happen on Main Street and Sidney Baker from 9 AM to 5 PM.
“For more than six decades, firefighters have stood on the front lines to fuel MDA’s mission to free individuals and the families who love them, from the harm of muscular dystrophy and other related life-threatening diseases that take away the ability to walk, move, smile, talk and even breathe.
Funds raised through 2018 Kerrville Fill the Boot drives and empowers families with life-enhancing resources and support, including state-of-the-art support groups and Care Centers, including the MDA Care Center at University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio
They also help give more than 50 local kids the opportunity to experience the best week of the year where anything is possible at MDA Summer Camp at no cost to their families at Camp Aranzazu in Rockport, TX.”
