Children’s school director charged with two crimes, trials set for September

A local woman, Shannon Webb, previous Director of Zion Lutheran Children’s Center, recently was arrested for two charges including “Theft Prop $150K<$300K”, which is a Second Degree Felony, and another one for “Forgery Financial Instrument $2500<$30K”, a State Jail Felony.

Webb was indicted on November 16, 2017, for the charge of “Theft Prop $150K<$300K”. Information from a document, filed on April 16, 2018, from Kerr County states the details of the charge, “pursuant to one scheme or continuing course of conduct, unlawfully appropriate, by acquiring or otherwise exercising control over, property, specifically: money, of the value of $150,000 or more but less than $300,000, from Zion Lutheran Church, the owner thereof, without the effective consent of the owner, and with intent to deprive the owner of the property.”

In another document, dated May 16, 2018, it says that “The Court enters the following Setting Order upon defendant’s plea of “Not Guilty” at arraignment or upon appearance of counsel or the subsequent filing of pretrial motions.” The document also reads that the pretrial is set for August 23, 2018, at 8:30 AM. The trial date for the above-mentioned charge is set for September 24, 2018.

The second charge against Shannon Webb is “Forgery Financial Instrument $2500<$30K”. As stated from the indictment document, dated April 16, 2018, “pursuant to one scheme or continuing course of conduct, with intent to defraud or harm another, alter or make or complete a writing so it purported to the act of Zion Lutheran Church or Zion Lutheran Children’s Center or (victim), who did not authorize the act, and the writings were checks of the tenor.”

The Order Setting, dated May 16, 2018, reads that her pre-trial date is to be on Augst 23, 2018 at 8:30 AM. The trial date is scheduled for September 24, 2018, at 8 AM. For this case, the document states, “The Court enters the following Setting Order upon defendant’s plea of ‘Not Guilty’ at arraignment or upon appearance of counsel or the subsequent filing of pretrial motions.”
