She is also not well loved, in fact is hated, by the French Court but must continue to live there for a political alliance. Well, you got a glimpse of the lives of the French and Scottish royalty so it makes sense that you get an idea of what the English royalty were up to at the time as well and The Tudors is a great show for that. As soon as she arrives to this new world, her life is threatened, but luckily a daring Scotsman, Jamie Fraser saves her life. The situation forces her to marry him and a passionate whirlwind romance between the two ensues.
This all takes place in the backdrop of British Redcoats taking over Scotland and killing all who oppose them. And, it is during the Jacobite Risings that Claire gets pregnant with her child with Jamie.

Peaky Blinders
