You could be wondering if there’s anything you can do to add some ‘oomph’ to your iPhone music.
There’s quite a lot of ways to connect your phone to audio devices- Bluetooth, CarPlay and others. Still, if you need more bass, here’s what you can do.
Two Ways to Add Bass on iPhone
Option 1: Use a Headphones with Strong Bass
As far as the iPhone’s speakers are concerned they won’t be able to compete with a full-fledged audio device, such as a speaker or headphones.
Therefore, your best bet is to invest in a pair of high quality headphones that advertise strong bass aspects. Bass heavy headphones will have added features that can really put the effect you want up front and center. Some will have noise-cancelling technology that can immerse you further into the sound experience.
Option 2: Change the Equalizer Settings
The good news is that you can add a bass to improve sound quality without having to spend a single cent. It all boils down to knowing your iPhone’s settings.
You can change your iPhone’s equalizer thru the Music App via Settings. It should be under the ‘Playback’ sub-setting and represented by ‘EQ’. Tap it and you’ll get inside the EQ and presented with choices such as ‘Acoustic’, ‘Classical’ and ‘Electronic’, among others.
What you’ll want to choose is the ‘Bass Booster’. Also, you can experiment with other EQ presets to see which one sounds best. Keep in mind that music apps, such as Spotify will have its own equalizer setting, which you may need to adjust to get optimal results.
Another option is to install an EQ app, although this may not do much when using your iPhone’s default speakers. For cars, the audio will depend on your setup so it may be wise to invest in additional equipment.
